Brimbank City vs Ascot Vale
Brimbank City has continued its unbeaten run now to 5 matches in the seniors on the weekend. Leading upto the game agasint the Hot headed Chillieans Ascot Vale Soccer Club, Brimbank City had 3 wins and a draw which only came against Melton (1-1) last week. Recovering from a frozen 1 point Brimbank was hoping to restart a winning streak at home against the bottom side. They say a game is not won untill it is played and the match up against a very determined side showed just that. The final score of 3-0 for Brimbank City is no indication of an easy game because the home side really had to work hard in all areas of the field especially in the back. Lucky for the lack of finishing ability of some of the ascot vales players the blue and yellow was able to keep only their second clean sheet for the season. The growing form of Senad Kablar's army was only a hint of what is to come in the following matches in the season and the climb continues after a shaky start to the year. Next week a local derby awaits for the rampaging former provisional 2 side against rivals Brimbank Stallions at home soil (Selwyn park). This will be the second game of the four home games to play. A win against the Italian Stallions will further the gap between the two to 4 points and give Djerzelez the egde and some breathing space. Never the less 3 points would also mean that they will get a step closer to promotion and possibly close the gap between the two top teams Surf coast and Youth united respectively. Lets see if the boys can deliver this time round when the last time the two met at the Italo-Australian social club where the sides had to settle for a point each.
